This is the first of three articles to guide you in your endeavors and will help you to make the right choice. Before we get started, let me clarify what this article is about.

Many articles have been written on proper etiquette, safe-words, rules, proper technique and treating your play-partner correctly. However, whether we like to admit it or not, there are quite a few people of both genders who do not wish to be "out", prefer confidentiality, are incredibly shy, etc. For this very reason, you have this article. It's goal is to help you out there that are considering your first Session, and are nervous about how to proceed. It will give you some guidelines to go by, as well as help you ask for your fetish desires in the proper manner, and it will give you some key traits that most respectable Domina's have in common. What it will not do is set you up with one. It will not tell you how to convince one to have sexual relations with you (True Dominas DO NOT) It will not tell you how to become one. So, Lets get started.

The Phone Call:

So, you've finally decided to call Her - the professional Mistress!!! All this time fantasizing, dreaming…now if you can just dial the number. STOP! Before you call, reread her ad, there are clues in it. What are her phone hours? Respect them. If they are 10am till 2pm, do not call at 9:45am and expect an answer and leave a rude voicemail when you are disappointed. Likewise, do not call at 2: 15pm and expect her to spend the next hour chatting with you. These hours are posted for a reason. She may have a family, job, and session to go to. Next, address the party as listed in their ad. Mistress Simone , Goddess Diva, Ma'am. Do not refer to them as "Simone", "Diva", "Hey". Show the proper respect. If no title is given, choose a respectful prefix. If they have a secretary, slave or assistant who answers the phone, treat this person also with respect. They obviously know why you are calling and are knowledgeable of the Domina's procedures. They may also be able to help you gather valuable information., such as the Mistress's likes and dislikes. DO NOT demand to speak to the domina and only to her. You don't call your doctor and give his receptionist a hard time, do you? Be polite and speak clearly. You will be most likely prompted with questions geared towards helping to see if you are a potential slave for the Domina.

Before you call, have some idea of what type of fetish, training, session you are interested in. This question should be asked early on in the phone interview. That is exactly what this call is - an interview. You must make a good impression if you wish to be granted a second interview. Asking for sexual gratification is not going to get you in the door. The Prodom is not a prostitute. This point has been debated till everyone is blue in the face, but the fact is without the client penetrating or receiving oral/manual manipulation from the Domina, she in not a prostitute. Likewise, you should not expect to see the Domina, if you only "fetish" is to orally or analy worship her. Don't hide behind words such as servitude or worship. Skilled Prodoms are becoming harder to find, so do not waste time on things which she will not do. It only makes you seem insulting. You can ask about release or masturbation if it is important to your scene. We are used to this question, so you will not offend. Be honest at all times about your fetish experience. Telling the Domina your likes and dislikes will help both of you make any future sessions enjoyable. You don't want to tell a Domina you have experience in play piercing and then pass out at the site of the first needle. Likewise, don't say you enjoy heavy spanking if all you've experienced is a light over -the -knee. If you have never tried something, say so. The honesty will be respected and you may open new doors of exploration.

Closing:

Some questions you might want to ask are can I bring my own toys? What days and hours are sessions available? Inquire as to what her specialties are. If you are into crossdressing, but the Mistress is not equipped to do this, you need to know. Politely say "Thank You" and try someone else. Don't waste any further time if you do not wish a session. Ask about the equipment if you have a particular piece you need for your fetish, such as suspension, cages, and mummy bag. Not everyone has an entire houseful of dungeon equipment. Now the thousand dollar question - money. Yes, we have to mention it. Do not make this your first question. It is rude. Do not ask how much you charge, how much it cost, what the price is. This will probably end the phone call quickly. Always refer to it as the gift, token or gratuity. Do not go into sticker shock when a figure is mentioned. If you have any questions regarding the gift, now is the time to ask them. Are longer sessions available? Are other dominants or sub missives available? Do different fetishes have different gifts? The last step is to schedule or not. If you wish a session, now is the time to state it. If not, thank them for the time and end the call. If you are looking to schedule at a later date, say so and give some idea as to time frame. The Mistress may have a vacation or convention planned at that time. This will prevent any disappointment when you call to schedule and she's out of town. Make sure they have your name or some type of name so you will not have to repeat the process. If you are ready to schedule, ask about open times that might be good for you. Be prepared to be given a few choices if your first choice is filled. At this time you will be given instructions on how to proceed to your next step - the actual session!
